A few years ago the press talked a lot about a cat, who did not want to leave the grave of his master at the cemetery of Thouars in Deux-Sèvres in France.
In the good town of Thouars, in the Deux Sèvres, lived in perfect harmony an old man, widowed and retired, his daughter Françoise and a beautiful black cat who answered by the name of Doudou. Doudou loved Francoise, certainly, but the love of his life was the old gentleman who, on his side, gave him back.
And then, one day, the old gentleman died. Overcoming her despair, Francoise did the right thing in these circumstances and on the day of the funeral, she locked Doudou in the kitchen and buried her dad at the cemetery of Thouars, at the other end of the city.
Three days later, taking advantage of an unfortunate door, Doudou disappeared. Francoise Salé looked for him everywhere, put advertisements in the newspapers, alerted the neighbors ... Doudou did not reappear ...
The following Sunday, she went to bring flowers to her father's grave, and what did she see? Doudou, motionless, seated on the stone beneath which his great friend was resting.
How did Doudou know that he had been brought here to this cemetery for his last trip? During the funeral, he was locked in the house! And how, in that great cemetery where he had never been before, had he felt that it was under that marble and not another that the remains of the one he loved more than anything in the world lay?
Francoise Sale wanted to bring him home, but Doudou refused to move. For two years, Francoise had to bring him food every day on this tomb that he did not want to leave, whether it was raining, selling or snowing.
Doudou has since died of cold. He died on the grave of his friend whom he did not want to give up, alone, in the wind, in the rain, in the snow ...
